Karl Fenton named winner of PKR Live II

Karl Fenton wins PKR Live II

Virtual reality became reality in London last weekend when the final of PKR Live II reached a final at London’s famous poker club –Loose Cannon. 150 players descended on the nation’s capital for PKR Live II, an excellent value event that saw players compete in three events for their money including a freeroll on Sunday.

Karl ‘discomonkey’ Fenton, 23 years old, was the eventual winner of the $75,000 main event by defeating his long time friend Simon Wing heads up for the title and the $20,000 first prize. All the players in attendance were raving about the weekend of poker fun and it left Loose Cannon manager Roy Houghton proclaiming, “I have been in the poker world for 40 years, and have yet to meet a friendlier crowd than the people who came to the Loose Cannon over the weekend.”

Lucky PKR Rakeback players will be able to compete in a number of freerolls as part of Rake the Rake’ssponsorship of the English Poker open taking place at Dusk till Dawn poker club in Nottingham.

The EPO already has a $1 million guarantee prize pool attached to it and so is sure to attract a lot of attention from the world´s top players as a warm up to the WSOP* Europe 2009. Each $7,000 package includes the $5,000 + $300 buy-in and $1,700 for accommodation and transport costs.

Below there are 11 rooms to qualify through – you can qualify for as many of the freerolls as you like, and qualification can be as simple as playing 1 raked hand or earning 1 point at any of the rooms!

PKR Live II

Following the massive success of PKR’s first live event, PKR Live II promises to be even better. Taking place at London’s Loose Cannon Club from 17 to 19 April, the event will showcase 3 fantastic tournaments as well as some great events away from the table.

The event will allow their loyal online players to meet each other and put a face to online usernames who have won and lost their money! Last year the Main Event winner, Escalope, walked away with a nice cheque for $20,000 after playing his way through a vast crowd of 149 other players.

In order to enter tournament players will first need to register with PKR.com and then play through one of their daily satellite tournaments. PKR are often multiple qualifying packages allowing users of all types a chance to enter.

Tournament Structure:

Tournament 1 – Friday Warm Up -$100 Buy In – 17/04/09 – Starts 8pm

Tournament 2 – Main Event 18 -$500 Buy In– 19/04/09 – Starts 1pm

Tournament 3 – $10,000 Sunday Bounty freeroll -19/04/09 – Starts 2pm – Exclusive to main event players
